American College Basketball League
The Draft of the NBA corresponds to the procedure by which, at the end of June each year, the franchises that are part of this league basketball States join their teams players under 23, from American universities or leagues in other countries.
The Draft currently consists of two rounds, the first and second round. Thirty each league teams have in principle an election each. A team can pass future rounds of the draft during the competition (until the end of the transfer period) and the post-season.
The order of selection is determined according to the following procedure:
- In positions 15 to 30, are located 16 teams qualified for the playoffs , in reverse order of winning percentage in the regular season just ended (how many more wins a team gets, the lower the position).
- In the first fourteen positions are distributed not rated for playoff teams. The ranking is established by a draw (the "Lottery"), which are more likely to occupy the first places the teams that have accumulated more losses.
The "draft lottery" is the draw for which will determine the top three draft picks. Is accomplished by introducing 14 balls in a drum, and extracting four for each of the three choices. All possible combinations of numbers (1001) were distributed to the 14 teams that have been left out of the playoffs, according to its final position in the standings. Thus, the lowest ranked team last season has a 25% chance to get 1's, while the No. 14 team has only 0.5%.
The extraction ceremony balls done in private, although attended by representatives from the 14 teams involved as well as independent auditors and members of the press.
All eligible players must be 19 years old in the calendar year in which it celebrates the draft, and if they are "international" must have been at least a year since I graduated high school its course. For the draft, players are considered "international" who have resided outside the U.S. during the three years prior to that draft, who had not been registered in any American university and who have not graduated in any American school.

I teach at an ESL school/Private High School/Business College (yes, all three rolled into one) in Sydney.
There are soccer and basketball scholarships on offer for students aged 15 and up. This equates to about $12,000 free tuition each year.
If you know a kid who is very good at either of these sports and would be mature enough to travel down here (and cover their own living expenses) check out on Metro, then Student Life, then either basketball or soccer, then on Sports Scholarhips. Our soccer team just won the league championship they are in, and the basketball team is entering their semifinals next week
